pictures?????

God willing they're finally here. The pictures that is. In the meantime, how about some more updating. Nik and Lizzy's Albanian wedding was quite an experience. To honor it, i ate a bit of meat. Twice. Those of you who know i claim some sort of vegetarianism may be amused by that, or surprised, or whatever. It's kind of hard to be a vegetarian in Albania, however, as the word for meat is "mish". However, that only applies technically to beef. Thus, to some Albanians, something without meat can have chicken and ham in it. Which requires the old rigamarole at times of going through the whole list. "No ham, no fish, no chicken, no beef." Then also, i'm not much of a label reader here (partially because sometimes i can't read the labels :O) ), and the fact that i eat meat when it's to avoid offending someone most of the time. The end result is..... i've eaten a lot of meat, for me, in Albania. The picture of the guy on the horse is Skanderbeg, their national hero. He's a pretty cool guy, and was a Christian too, fighting against the muslim Turks for possession of his country and the honor of his religion. His sister had the castle near Bethany house, Mamica was her name i believe, and i often say i want to learn more about her.
